Gibson Peghead

The Golden Era of the Gibson Thinlines

This guitar lives in Europe in the hands of Troels Schmidt, LPF member Troels.

Here is what he has to say about it... "This is the one pick up Gibson ES-330T - which was made only between 1959 and 1962. The guitar is original except for the bridge and the tuners which have been changed (but not by me). It also had a refret some time. A couple of sound posts have been set in.

Ted McCarty once said in an interview, that during production of the ES guitars the best quality wood was used in in the 355/345's. Then came the 335 and so the 330... that was a way to use all the wood. In spite of that this ES-330T is excellently made of fine materials (The contour brace for instance is at least grade AA quartersawn spruce) and both the neck and fretboard are made of what looks like selected high quality wood pieces - Honduras mahogany and Brazilian rosewood. Kerfed linings and end blocks are made of high grade mahogany as well."

Love the board. Thanks for sharing this Troels.
