Gibson Peghead

The Golden Era of the Gibson Thinlines

This guitar was purchased by a good friend of mine at the 2011 Dallas Guitar Show. A little background... I own a Gibson ES-335 Sunburst A30519. This guitar is only one serial number earlier. Same batch with a 1958 FON. Some big neck, same color (although the pics here of mine don't show the true color - these pics do), same low bridge/neck angle. A30518 is the 335 I have had the longest. It's a special guitar. One of the good ones. I have always loved it and felt that it was one of the best that I have ever had.

This one might be better. I say might because I have not had the opportunity to play them side by side. What I can say is that I spent some quality time with this one at the show and was very impressed. It's a special guitar. Several LPF members concur with that opinion. Sounds great , plays great, looks great. Double white PAFs. What not to like?

I'm so glad it ended up with its deserving new owner and will stay in the family.
