The Golden Era of the Gibson Thinlines

These are the big thumpers of the thinlines. The EB-2 bass has never been very popular, but is nevertheless a very cool bass. Great for guitar players because of its short scale length (30.5").

They tend to be muddy sounding due to the massive humbucker placed near the neck unless you have an amp with a lot of top end. Earlier versions had a single coil pickup.

This particular EB-2 has a fairly rare two-piece top, which can be seen in the bridge picture.

Serial number is unreadable on the label but the FON appears to be S1767-X. Can't read the last digit.
